She did not have it easy
People assume that getting into films is easier for star kids. On the contrary, Jhanvi had to convince her mom to allow her to pursue a career in acting. Her mom wanted Jhanvi to take up other professions and not get into the film industry. Later, Sridevi gave permission to Jhanvi to take up acting after many discussions. In fact, it has been known that Sridevi wanted her daughter to become a doctor!
One look at her Instagram page makes it clear that Jhanvi loves to travel. In fact, their family vacation pictures have been giving up vacation goals for quite some time now. Their comments to each other’s Instagram posts are also very personal and confirm that the two share a special friendship.
Her South Indian film rejection
Though Jhanvi’s entry into films has been expected for the past couple of years, she has taken some time to kick-start her career with a film that she believes in. There have been talks that she was offered some films in the South Indian film industries with some of the superstars and that she has turned them down. Apparently, she turned down one big film with Mahesh Babu because she felt that she was not completely ready for it.
Competition is strong
Even before the release of her debut film, Jhanvi is being pitted against many young actors who are slated to make their debuts soon. Her primary competitor at this stage is considered to be Saif Ali Khan and Amrita Singh’s daughter Sara Ali Khan. With some big names popping up for Sara’s big screen debut, people are waiting to see which one will finally materialise and she is compared with Jhanvi for her family background and her social media popularity. The fact that she has bagged a role in Simmba by ousting Jhanvi has given rise to more competition amongst them. However, Jhanvi maintains that she doesn't see her as a competitor and that they are in fact, good friends.
