Most Awaited Biopics of Indian Cinema Right NowJun 23, 2018
Even before 10–15 years, biopics were not as frequently made as in recent years. It was always perceived that Indian cinema only shows over the top stories without character depth unlike other country’s film industry. Reasons are that there were not many biopics made like ‘Bandit Queen’, ‘Sardar’, etc. In recent times, real-life stories of eminent personalities have gained many acclamations by the cinema lovers and also have done well at the box-office. For this reason, filmmakers are now making movies which can touch the audience’s hearts, instead of focusing on making romantic movies that can return more than Rs 100 crores at the box office. This is a big shift from the masala movie genre in the Indian Cinema. Biopics are now keeping Bollywood filmmakers and actors on the lookout for biographies of important people to prove their capabilities.
