Nutritious Diet Vs Exercise - The Better Route!
They say the secret behind a svelte figure is 75 percent diet and 25 percent workout, yet there are people who gobble up food and workout like crazy at the gym so that they don't put on weight. And then there are another set of people who think they can control body weight through dieting alone.
Often one forgets the fact that each one of us are different and something that goes right for one person may not necessarily work for another.
But the underlying rule for a healthy physique is to keep an eye on what you eat and make exercise part of your everyday routine.
Experts are of the opinion that exercise cannot give the desired results, simply because we all naturally have a tendency to compensate the calories we burn. In simple words, we could say that exercise can trigger our appetite and metabolism which can lead to increased intake of calories. But it does not mean one has to starve because the body tends to resist weight loss when you start eating less.
So in order to get both dieting and exercising in tandem it's better to chart a diet plan before the weight loss drive and increase calorie intake as the workouts get more rigorous all the while keeping in mind that oily snacks and sweets must be avoided at all cost.
One has to understand that food is the basic fuel used by the body to burn fat and without the right intake of calories & nutrients it is futile to exercise and desire for weight loss.
Also by following a few simple tips one can make sure that they achieve a long term healthy body.
Increase the intake of liquids
Dehydration can slow down the body's metabolic process and can meddle with weight loss plans. So always keep the body hydrated. The liquids could be taken in the form of vegetables juice, tender coconut water, green tea or just plain water.
Never skip breakfast
Always make a point to have good breakfast as it is the most important meal of the day. This could be steamed South Indian breakfast or oatmeal, eggs or toast.
Eat regular small-portion meals
Eating regular meals throughout the day will help in burning calories faster.
Savour every bite
Focus on your food, chew and enjoy every bite.
Avoid junk food
Never give in to temptations like fizzy drinks, chocolates, fried food items,etc.
If you want a slimmer waistline make sure you stay away from alcohol as it contain high calories.
