"Elegance is the only beauty that never fades", we know that the British actress and all-time style icon, Audrey Hepburn, was talking about comfort and attitude here but when we see women around us in those outrageous outfits and skyscraper stilettos, we can't help ask whether fashion is more important than comfort. Is it important to follow a trend just because your girlie gang is wearing it?

To understand the long debated topic let's understand what fashion is. It is a broad term that varies from person to person. Fashion is an idea that along with artistic ability is put into clothing, footwear, accessories, makeup, hairstyle and what not. It could also be one’s inner self or personality. But in yet another sense it is all money.

According to a report from McKinsey and the Business of Fashion, it is one of the past decade’s rare economic success stories. Over that period, the industry has grown at 5.5 percent annually. And why not fashion? magazines, television programs and fashion designers tell us what to wear, how to look and we keep changing our wardrobe throughout the year without even thinking whether these changes are worth it? Are we using all the clothes we have bought and above all are we comfortable in them? So, finally it all boils down to the fact that it is all about "Comfort". What is the use of owning a Dior or Dolce & Gabbana if you are not comfortable in it? Clothes must be functional, they should accentuate your best features. More than the price tag, they should be flattering for your body type and skin tone.

Instead of cluttering the wardrobe with more and more clothes and still whining "I have nothing to wear," one could take a cue from celebrities like Kate Middleton, Duchess of Cambridge or Keira Knightly who have repeatedly appeared in the same clothes or recycled ones and totally slayed each time. With their sartorial choices these women continues to inspire girls who look up to them.

One can balance their strength and femininity even in a six yard saree or a suit. All one has to feel is comfortable in their own skin.

So now you know to be a true fashionista all you need to wear is your attitude.
