What if you rule the sky: Heads up on experience of sky-divingJan 18, 2018
You only live once and the excitement and exhilaration that skydiving gives, is worth trying at least once in your life. It is one of the most preferred adventure sports today. But, it's not for the faint-hearted. So before taking the plunge, let us know a little about this dynamic sport.?
A great skydiving experience requires careful and rigorous preparation. Training is vital. So, look for the best place where you can take the initial lessons.
Instructors will get you acquainted with every step before your first jump. Share your doubts and fears with the instructor and they will be happy to advise you.
Get yourself mentally and physically ready for the big day. For tandem jumpers, your guide will give necessary information on safety procedures, how to hold your back in an arch like position and breathing techniques throughout the fall.
Get ready for the flight
One would feel nerves wracking while boarding the flight and noise of the aircraft engines could be distracting but don't let it dampen the spirit.
During the tandem jump, the trainee and the trainer will be harnessed together with the trainee at the front. The instructor always checks the straps and makes sure everything is safe. Each student also receives a pair of goggles to protect their eyes from tearing up or drying out during freefall.
Now comes the most exciting part. The doors of the plane will be opened and a gush of cool air passes by. The instructor will then instruct you to jump. After a minute the instructor will deploy the parachute.
The landing is a gentler and easier process. The instructor will tell you to lift your legs out of the way so you can gently sit and slide down. And as you touch the ground you may want to thank yourself for the once in a lifetime experience.
If you want to take the thrill to the next level there is Solo Jump. The course duration is a week and it is suited for those who wish to take up skydiving as a career.
