The Mall Road

Snow View Point

Saint John’s Church and Gurney House

For those interested in viewing historical architectural buildings the Saint John’s Church and Gurney House are interesting examples. The church built in 1844 is a calm and peaceful sightseeing choice and is situated away from the busy city. The Gurney House was British conservationist Jim Corbett’s residence which has been converted into a museum.

Naina Devi Temple

Devout Hindu visitors can visit this sacred temple where the presiding deity is Goddess Naina Devi. The temple is built on Naina hillock near the main Naina lake and is considered as one of the 64th Shakti Peeths in the country.

Govind Vallabh Pant High Altitude Zoo

This high-altitude zoo at 2100 metres above sea level is worth a visit on your trip to Nainital especially for families with children. You can see snow leopard, tigers, panthers, sambar deer, Tibetan wolf and other wild animals here.

There are several enjoyable activities that visitors to Nainital can indulge in during their holiday here including rock climbing, or a visit to the famous animal sanctuary Jim Corbett National Park which is 65 kilometres away from the city.
