Trekking

Adventure oriented tourists can take off on a trekking tour through dense forests and along the coastline and observe different types of flora and fauna along the way. The track goes through thick jungle and small hills and takes about an hour to reach the south west corner of the island. Mount Harriet to Madhuban is another trekking trail of about 16 kilometres.

Beaches

There are plenty of beautiful beaches you can visit in Andamans if you are a beach lover and among these the Radhanagar beach and Elephant Beach on Havelock Island, Sandbar Beach, Chidiyatapu Beach, Wandoor Beach and Corbyn Cove Beach are excellent choices. The combination of turquoise blue ocean and silvery white sands, verdant greenery and overall stunning vistas make these beaches attractive to tourists from across the globe.

Site Seeing

Visitors can go to Ross Island which has important landmarks and see the sound and light show which has a narration about the history of the islands. The Cellular Jail is a major tourist attraction in Port Blair where freedom fighters were incarcerated, tortured and treated with brutal cruelty. There are several other interesting museums such as the Anthropological Museum, The Fisheries Museum and the Kalapani Museum which provide fascinating insights into the tribal, marine life, historical artefacts related to the islands’ history and the Freedom struggle for Independence.

You can reach the islands by flying to Vir Savarkar Airport at Port Blair or by sailing from Chennai, Visakhapatnam or Kolkata and the best time to travel there is from May to October. Travel companies offer exciting holiday package deals which suit your budget and preferences.
